New Attitude.

Few words, but great emotion.

Tonight I saw a man who looked like me give a speech that made us all the same color. (Red, White, and Blue, honey!) And my eyes were moist because of it.

We live in a cynical world, filled with folks who love to cut down the independent and glorify the redundant. We’ve seen it all. We’ve done it all. And everyday, it seems like some TV is telling us we need more stuff in order to be ok, to fit in, and to be liked.

But tonight, I did not hear that. Tonight, I became a part of something bigger than the latest trend. I became a member in a cause for a goal that has made my heart come alive.

I hung up my cynicism and doubt and allowed myself to do something that my parents got to do when they were my age, but I’ve not had the privilege to experience: Believe in the unbelievable chance that we could all get happy and free.

Since a great many of ya’ll may know that I’ve been on the fence for a good deal of this whole hullabaloo. And since this has distressed my politically aware, flag flying, hoopin’ and a hollerin’ activist, environmental green jeans compost making, gay rights touting, women’s issues hell raising and general pokes in the man’s side friends. (Whew! My kind of people!) I’m gonna say it now.

Oh sweet chillun, He’s got my vote!

Remember…

The Revolution will be Caramelized!

Peace, ya’ll.
